Non-Invasive vs. Minimally Invasive Devices
As medical and aesthetic technology continues to develop to improve patient experience, physicians must be ready to provide non-and-minimally-invasive cosmetic solutions in order to compete with other clinics and satisfy patient demands. As a result, knowing the specific differences between non- and minimally- invasive procedures is paramount during the consultation stage. We have outlined the important differences between the two forms of procedures below, so that you may provide your patients with the relevant information for them to make informed decisions regarding their treatment needs.
Non-Invasive
Non-invasive treatments refer to those procedures which require no incisions, while still delivering noticeable results. These sorts of treatments are overtly ideal as they reduce discomfort throughout and after the procedure, as well as easing any pre-procedure nerves. What’s more, your patient can rest assured that they will not be left with any surgical scarring after the treatment. Cosmetic treatments that can be provided through non-invasive means include skin and tissue remodelling, cellulite reduction, dimpled skin reduction and skin smoothing.
Workstations specifically designed to treat different parts of the face and body are optimal. With regards to skin and tissue remodelling, safe and non-invasive volumetric heating is ideal. InMode’s hands-free Evoke RF platform and Forma RF technology (part of our Optimas workstation) utilise this form of technology to remodel the facial and submental tissues respectively, without any need for incisions.
Comparably, when it comes to non-invasive body cosmetic concerns, subdermal heating is also ideal to remodel larger parts of skin, treat adipose tissue, tone muscles and reduce cellulite. This type of technology is evident on our Evolve and Contoura workstations. With three propriety technologies – Tite, Trim and Tone – our Evolve remodels skin, treats adipose tissue and tones muscles. Similarly, our Contoura workstation contains three technologies, each designed to target a different bodily concern.
Firstly, BodyFX technology to penetrate the deeper fat layers of the body (abdomen, flanks and thighs) and improve the appearance of cellulite; secondly, MiniFX’s RF technology to improve appearance of skin and cellulite in smaller areas like the neck, knees and arms; thirdly, PLUS’ dermal and subdermal heating technology to remodel skin overall.
Minimally Invasive
Contrastingly, minimally invasive treatments refer to those procedures which require only a minimal amount of incisions, meaning no large post-op scarring and minimal downtime. While non-invasive procedures should be every clinician’s first port-of-call when treating their patients, minimally invasive procedures are a great alternative when non-invasive isn’t a tangible option. Cosmetic procedures that can be provided through minimally invasive means include contouring options that address skin laxity, fat coagulation and collagen remodelling.
Like non-invasive procedures, when it comes to contouring the face and shaping the body, clinicians can utilise RF energy for minimally invasive treatments; however, different types of technology should be utilised for different parts of the face and body. For example, FaceTite technology is the best way to contract and contour facial skin, whereas shaping the body can be achieved through the BodyTite technology.
However, some devices are all encompassing when it comes to treating both the body and the face. For example, both BodyTite’s Morpheus8 and AccuTite technologies are suitable for all cosmetic concerns, regardless of placement on the body. The former works to remodel adipose tissue and contour and smoothen the skin, while the latter provides more precise contouring to smaller and delicate parts of the face and body.
Non- and minimally- invasive cosmetic technologies are not only ideal for your patients, but they are also plentiful and provide targeted treatments depending on the problem area. Investing in these types of technology is the optimal way to ensure your patients are provided with the safest and most comfortable experience possible.
Bridging the gap between surgical and non-surgical procedures, InMode's minimally invasive aesthetic solutions for the face and body enable patients to see optimal results faster without large surgical scars or lengthy downtime.
